Turley Flats

The Turley Flats Apartments in Saint Helena opened it's doors to accept tenants in 2019 after a long journey started by the red tagging of a Ranch Home at 1105 Pope Street that housed 8 families.  One family was allowed to stay and the rest ended up displaced to the Napa Shelter where a Saint Helena family happened to be volunteering.  That family was the Dr. Larry Turley family, proprietors of the Turley Wine Cellars.  After a chance meeting with CAH President Larry Kromann at a County Housing Summit, the idea for the Turley Flats Apartments became a reality.  After a lot of work on Larry Kromann and Larry Turley's' part to purchase the existing home and land, obtain grants, loans, permits, etc., the Conditional Use permit to start work was granted in 2013 and in 2017 ground was broken on the actual construction project
